about

This is a conversation between two best friends after one of them suddenly passes.

lyrics

Woke one sunny morning
Hope’d you’d catch the ride
You surprised us on the ferry boat
And we’d joke from side to side

We gathered up our brothers
And we chatted up our wives
Plum gut, sun up-favorite lines from movies
We were on a high

We damn sure had it made
The hour glass was filled with sand
We really had it made
Meet you again in the Promised Land

You sailed across the sandbar
Like a white horse in the rain
You took a golden ladder, reaching down from the stars
And threw a life boat for our pain

(You said) Look after my wife and children
I’ll be your shelter on the sea
And don’t forget that sunny morning (on the ferry)
And help me rest In peace!

Oooooooo, We damn sure had it made
The hour glass was filled with sand
Oooooooo, we really it made
Meet you again in the Promised Land

Meet you on the other side
Where the ocean meets the sky brother
See you on the other side
Where the ocean meets the sky
